Linguist explained why the disconnection schedule is a faulty calque from Russian

According to glavcom.ua: Linguist Olga Vasylyeva explained why the use of the expression 'disconnection schedules' is incorrect from a lexical point of view. According to her, it is simply a calque from the Russian language, where such an expression may be common but does not conform to the norms of the Ukrainian language.

According to Vasylyeva's conclusions, it is more correct to use the words 'to disconnect' or 'to detach' in Ukrainian instead of 'to shut off' or 'to turn off'. She emphasized that all words with the root 'key' (for example, 'to shut off' or 'to disconnect') have many calques, and all of them are incorrect in the Ukrainian language.

Proposal to use the term 'disconnection schedule' instead of 'shut-off schedule'

Instead of 'disconnection schedules', it is correct to use the terms 'planned/emergency disconnections' or 'disconnection schedules'. The linguist recommends using a more accurate and natural option - 'disconnection schedule' instead of 'shut-off schedule'.
