According to Главком: In response to heightened security threats, the Lviv City Council has activated an emergency preparedness plan for the city. This action follows recent warnings from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the potential for new attacks by the Russian military. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi officially initiated this preparedness regime on January 29, mandating specific measures for local businesses and residents. Lviv, a major cultural hub in western Ukraine, has become a critical refuge and logistical center since the full-scale invasion began.

Guidelines for Businesses and Residents

The city government is advising stores and pharmacies to stockpile a two-week supply of essential goods and ensure they can operate autonomously. Inna Svystun, a representative of the city council, explained that these establishments must be ready to function during prolonged power outages. This readiness requires:

• Independent power sources;
• Logistical plans to secure fuel for this period;
• Sufficient volumes of essential items, including bread, water, hygiene products, and baby food.

Svystun also stressed the importance of businesses preparing their internal logistics and being ready to cooperate in an emergency. Residents are urged to organize and inspect shelters, and to ensure power banks and charging stations are fully charged to maintain safety and comfort during a crisis.
