The trend of returning Ukrainian youth from Poland increased in September

Although many young Ukrainians continue to leave for study or work in Poland, more and more of them are returning home.

According to the Polish Border Guard, in September the rate of return of Ukrainian youth increased more than 3.5 times compared to August.

According to statistics, from August 28 to September 28, over 19.2 thousand citizens aged 18 to 22 crossed the Polish border towards Ukraine. This is the highest figure in recent months.

Experts explain such dynamics with seasonal factors – the beginning of the academic year in Ukrainian universities and the end of the summer temporary work abroad period.

'Such fluctuations are typical for youth seeking to combine opportunities for studying at home and temporary work abroad,' analysts emphasize.

Departure abroad

Ukrainian men aged 18–22 are allowed to cross the state border

Recall that since August 28, Ukrainian men aged 18–22 have again been allowed to cross the state border. This decision has allowed students and temporary workers to plan trips between Ukraine and EU countries more freely.

The return of Ukrainian youth from Poland increased in September, which is related to seasonal factors and the beginning of the academic year in Ukraine. This allowed young people to maintain a balance between studying and working abroad.
