Mayor of Dnipro Filatov on the rescue of the left bank: the city is delivering generators to high-rise buildings
Emergency measures in Dnipro due to the energy crisis
According to Главком: Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov reported on emergency measures taken to rescue the left bank of the city due to the critical energy situation that arose after the shelling. In this regard, city services have organized the delivery of mobile generators to high-rise buildings to provide residents with electricity in freezing conditions, with temperatures in Dnipro reaching -12°C.
Currently, more than 18,000 families remain without electricity. Energy crews have been continuously working for over 72 hours to restore power supply. During the night from Friday to Saturday, one of the energy facilities was severely damaged, significantly complicating the situation. DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko noted that the scale of the damage is very significant, and it is currently technically impossible to fully supply power to all houses.
Providing heat and water for residents
Filatov emphasized the importance of providing heat and water for residents:
“The main thing is that you have heat and water”

DTEK continues to work on restoring power supply, although the situation remains complicated. As a DTEK representative noted, restoring power supply given the scale of the destruction is a significant challenge.
In these conditions, city services continue to take measures to support the residents of Dnipro, as winter promises to be difficult for many Ukrainians.
This situation highlights the challenges faced by Ukrainian cities amidst military actions and the energy crisis. Problems with electricity supply, especially in winter, can significantly affect the quality of life for citizens. Local authorities and energy companies must coordinate their actions for the rapid restoration of infrastructure and ensuring the basic needs of the population.
