Ternopil residents will receive 17 new trolleybuses in spring
Ternopil is preparing for a large-scale update of electric transport: by the end of spring, the city will replenish its fleet with 17 new trolleybuses of Ukrainian production. This is the largest modernization in the last 15 years. Faine Misto reports about this.
The purchase was completed by the municipal enterprise «Ternopilelektrotrans». These are low-floor trolleybuses produced by «Electron». The project is financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank as part of the state program for urban transport development.
New trolleybuses in Ternopil: characteristics and comfort
Each trolleybus is designed for 106 passengers, including 34 seats. The interiors are adapted for people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
Main characteristics of the transport:
fully low floor
ramp and special places for passengers with disabilities
body tilt system at stops
air conditioning and heating
video surveillance and GPS navigation
The bodies are made of stainless steel, and the finishing materials are non-combustible. All safety systems meet modern standards.
Ternopil electric transport: park update plans
The new trolleybuses will be designed in a unified style of urban transport — in a white-blue color scheme. After the technical checks and document processing are completed, they will go on routes.
The city does not plan to stop there. Under the same program, the purchase of another 7 trolleybuses along with components for maintenance has already been announced.
Thus, Ternopil is gradually modernizing public transport, focusing on the comfort, accessibility, and safety of passengers.
