Ukraine’s Digital Ministry Adds 40 New AI Terms to Its National Dictionary
National AI Terminology Dictionary Gets a Major Update
According to Главком: Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has released an updated edition of its national dictionary of artificial intelligence terms. The new version introduces 40 fresh concepts that capture the latest trends and challenges in the field. Among the newly added terms are ‘AI slop,’ ‘prompt injection,’ ‘model drift,’ ‘superintelligence,’ and ‘system prompt.’
The term ‘AI slop’ refers to low-quality content produced by generative AI. ‘Prompt injection’ describes an attempt to manipulate a language model through specially crafted commands. ‘Model drift’ addresses the loss of algorithmic accuracy caused by changes in data. Additionally, ‘system prompt’ is defined as the initial instruction that sets the context and rules for AI behavior during user interaction.
Access and Future Plans
The dictionary is available in both text and machine-readable formats, making it easy for professionals and researchers to use. The ministry has stated that the dictionary will be updated regularly to keep pace with technological advances and the emergence of new terms. In 2024, the Ministry, together with the Expert Advisory Committee on AI Development, plans to compile a comprehensive dictionary of AI terminology, further expanding knowledge in this critical area.
This update represents a significant step for Ukraine as it continues to integrate AI technologies across various sectors. The inclusion of terms that address modern challenges highlights the rapid evolution of the field and the growing need for clear, standardized terminology among specialists. It also underscores the importance of aligning legislation and educational programs with a fast-changing technological landscape.
