Ukraine’s Social Ministry Unveils ‘Dodomu’ Platform to Help Citizens Return Home
The ‘Dodomu’ Digital Platform
According to Міністерство соц. політики: Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy is building a digital platform called ‘Dodomu’ (meaning ‘Homeward’) to assist with planning the return and reintegration of its people. The platform aims to give users details on:
- available housing
- job opportunities
- education
- social services
- healthcare in various communities
The official launch is set for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), scheduled for June 25–26, 2026, in Gdańsk.
Support and Purpose of the Platform
The development of ‘Dodomu’ is backed by GIZ Ukraine under the project ‘YOUA – Forging New Paths, Building Ukraine’s Future,’ commissioned by the German Government.
Denys Ulutin, Ukraine’s Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, stated: ‘Our shared goal is not to urge people to return at any cost, but to create real conditions for a voluntary, informed, and sustainable return.’
A meeting to discuss the platform’s details was held with representatives from over 260 communities, organized jointly with the Association of Ukrainian Cities. The ‘Dodomu’ platform is expected to become a key tool for those planning to return to Ukraine, equipping them with the necessary information to adapt to new circumstances.
This digital initiative addresses the urgent needs of Ukrainians who are considering coming back after an extended period abroad. It will not only provide information but also foster conditions for a safe and conscious return, marking a crucial step in the country’s recovery process. Furthermore, collaboration with international partners like GIZ highlights Ukraine’s efforts to secure external support in tackling social challenges tied to population reintegration.
As the 'Dodomu' platform prepares for its launch, it is essential to understand the broader context of digital initiatives aimed at facilitating the reintegration of Ukrainians living abroad. A recently announced new digital solution by the Ministry of Social Policy highlights similar efforts to simplify the return process for citizens. This ongoing commitment to support returning Ukrainians underscores the importance of accessible resources during the recovery phase.
