Situation at the Dniprorudne Iron Ore Plant

According to Главком: At the occupied Dniprorudne Iron Ore Plant (DZhRK) in the Zaporizhzhia region, workers are being forced to work on weekends without salary payments. Delays in salary payments have been ongoing for several months, raising concerns among employees. Most miners have not received their earnings for March, and the compensations provided range from 80 to 500 rubles.

The Dniprorudne Iron Ore Plant was controlled by the Slovak company Minerfin and structures of the Metinvest group before the full-scale invasion. Currently, the enterprise is fully under the control of the Russian occupation authorities. This has led to significant financial problems, as multi-million debts for payments have been recorded in the temporarily occupied territories.

Financial Problems in the Coal Industry

In particular, the enterprise Luhanskvuhillya has accumulated debts to miners amounting to about 169 million rubles. The situation in the coal industry is critical, as wages at the Dovzhanska-Kapitalna mine have not been paid since December 2025. In the face of such economic difficulties, workers are forced to fulfill their duties despite the lack of proper compensation for their work.

This situation highlights the serious economic problems faced by enterprises in the occupied territories, as well as the impact of the Russian occupation authorities on the local economy. Delays in payments and forced labor can lead to further social tension among workers, which is already felt in various sectors. It is important to pay attention to these issues, as they can have far-reaching consequences for the stability of the region and the well-being of its residents.

The ongoing wage delays at the DZhRK are part of a larger trend affecting workers across various regions, as seen in recent reports of strikes erupting due to unpaid salaries in Russia. This situation underscores the growing discontent among laborers facing similar financial hardships, which could further escalate tensions in the already unstable economic environment of the occupied territories.
