In Transcarpathia, border protection is being strengthened: concrete blocks are being installed

In Transcarpathia, concrete barrier blocks are actively being installed near the checkpoints to prevent illegal vehicle crossings across the state border. This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko.

«Together with other services responsible for the arrangement of checkpoints, we continue the fight against illegal attempts to breach the border. There have been several instances where citizens attempted to cross the border, causing damage to the infrastructure. Our goal is to prevent such cases,» emphasized Demchenko.

It was also noted that security measures are being taken on the roads leading to the checkpoints in collaboration with the Service for Development and Restoration of Infrastructure in Transcarpathian Region. Conditions are being created that force vehicles to reduce their speed, thus ensuring safety at the border.

In collaboration with Poland, measures are also being taken to prevent illegal vehicle exits across the border. According to the Polish Border Service, since the beginning of 2025, the number of exits by Ukrainians across the border with Poland has significantly increased. The spokesperson of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, emphasized that age is not taken into account, but attempts at illegal border crossing do not go unnoticed.

The State Border Guard Service is actively enhancing security measures at the border, together with other services aimed at preventing illegal actions and ensuring safety and order at the checkpoints. In light of the increasing number of citizens crossing the border, additional measures are being taken to prevent illegal border crossings and ensure safety on the roads leading to the checkpoints.
