Suspicions Against Members of Parliament

According to Главком: The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced suspicions against five members of parliament who were part of an organized criminal group. This group provided unlawful advantages for voting in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The suspicions were announced on December 27.

According to information from NABU, the group operated in the Verkhovna Rada and had a hierarchical structure with a clear division of roles. The coordination of the group's activities was carried out by one of the members of parliament. Group participants systematically received unlawful benefits for 'necessary' voting. The members of the group sent instructions via WhatsApp, which indicates the organization and coordination of their actions.

Resistance During the Investigation

It is also noted that employees of the State Guard Directorate resisted Bureau workers during the investigation. Despite this, NABU employees managed to enter the building of the committees of the Verkhovna Rada, allowing them to continue working on the case.

Among the suspected members of parliament are representatives of the 'Servant of the People' party:

  • Yevhen Pyvovarov
  • Igor Negulevsky
  • Olha Savchenko
  • Yuriy Kisiel

The activities of this organized group triggered significant public resonance, as the issue of corruption in Ukrainian politics remains relevant.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine in the fight against corruption, especially in the context of political activity.

Given the scale and seriousness of the allegations, the possible developments may have a significant impact on public trust in government institutions and political parties. Further investigations and court proceedings may become an important test for the country's anti-corruption agencies.
