Revisions to the 'National Cashback' Initiative

According to Главком: Starting March 1, 2023, Ukraine's 'National Cashback' program was updated, enabling citizens to receive up to 3,000 hryvnias in monthly rebates. Cashback is awarded at rates of 5% or 15%, depending on the product category. Furthermore, a new fuel subsidy for participating gas stations was introduced on March 20. This government-led program is part of a broader economic support package for citizens during a period of significant financial pressure.

Fuel Cost Compensation

Under this new measure, fuel purchase rebates are set at 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. The maximum monthly fuel cashback per person is 1,000 hryvnias. This specific fuel compensation scheme is scheduled to run until May 1, 2023. Only fuel station networks registered with the 'National Cashback' program are participating.

To take part in the 'National Cashback' program and accumulate funds, participants must meet several requirements:

  • Obtain a special program card.
  • Designate cards for making eligible purchases.
  • Buy Ukrainian-made goods.
  • Receive cashback into special accounts and use it to pay for utility services.

To use accumulated cashback for paying gas bills, consumers need to log into their personal account on their gas provider's website or app, select the 'National Cashback' payment option, and confirm the deduction from their special cashback account.

Various fuel station networks are participating in the program, including:

  • Ukrnafta
  • OKKO
  • WOG
  • Amic Energy
  • BVS
  • KLO
  • Motto
  • Chipo
  • VostokGas
  • Autotrans
  • Mango
  • Parallel
  • Rodnik
  • BRSM-Nafta

Additional participants, such as UPG, Socar Energy, Martin LLC, and Marshal, are expected to join the program shortly.

The program aims to support Ukrainian consumers facing economic challenges, particularly those related to rising fuel prices and the need for savings. It also incentivizes the purchase of domestic goods and services, which can positively impact the local economy. The participation of major fuel retailers demonstrates their willingness to adapt to new market conditions and support consumers during a difficult time.

As part of ongoing efforts to alleviate financial pressures on citizens, the government has not only revamped the 'National Cashback' initiative but also launched a dedicated program aimed at providing fuel rebates for drivers. This new measure, effective from March 20, offers significant savings for those purchasing fuel, making it essential for consumers to stay informed.
