General Elvis Comments on the Situation in Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: In a recent interview, NATO's Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, General Mike Elvis, stated that the Russian military has significantly enhanced its combat capabilities since the start of 2022. Speaking from abandoned tunnels beneath central London, near Trafalgar Square, Elvis also confirmed that NATO has formally identified Russia as the Alliance's main opponent.
He noted that Russian forces have learned to fight effectively since February 2022, becoming a formidable adversary.
“The individual soldiers, when compared one-on-one with Western armies, do not frighten me at all. What worries me is that they have been observing and living this reality for such a long time,”
the general remarked. He emphasized that Vladimir Putin has always intended to capture Kyiv, as he has repeatedly stated himself.
“This is a race we simply cannot afford to lose,”
he added.
NATO's Plans and the Situation in Ukraine
Elvis also outlined NATO's plans to deploy British troops to Ukraine after a potential ceasefire. The British contingent would be brigade-sized, comprising two or more battalion tactical groups.
