According to Главком: Germany has chosen its act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna. Sarah Engels emerged victorious from the national selection show, Das Deutsche Finale 2026, held in Berlin, with her song titled 'Fire'. The competition featured two rounds, culminating in a final with nine participants. A shortlist of three superfinalists was determined by an international jury of 20 experts, which notably included Ukrainian singer Ruslana, the winner of Eurovision 2004.

The Superfinal Outcome

In the superfinal, Sarah Engels competed against fellow artists Wavvyboi and Molly Sue. The winner was decided solely by public televote. Sarah Engels secured 38.3% of the viewer votes, earning her the right to represent Germany on the international stage. Wavvyboi placed second with 34.2%, while Molly Sue received 27.6% of the votes.

Sarah Engels first rose to fame in Germany in 2011 after appearing on the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar. Since then, she has built a successful music career, releasing several albums including:
