According to glavcom.ua: The Swiss government is considering a ban on the use of social networks by children to protect them from harmful content and negative influences. Interior Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider supports similar measures adapted from Australia and believes that social networks should be held accountable for the content published by children and teenagers.
“We must take the protection of our children more seriously. This includes the possibility of restricting access to social networks for young people and combating algorithms that exploit their vulnerabilities,” emphasized the minister.
Recent decisions in Swiss cantons are also aimed at limiting technology among schoolchildren, demonstrating an increasing attention to the problem. These steps may help prevent the risks of depression among teenagers who actively use social networks.
