OECD named Poland the best labor market for Ukrainians

Work in Poland
Польща створила найкращі умови для українських працівників.

Poland has become a leader among countries that have successfully integrated Ukrainians in the labor market. The employment rate of refugees here reaches 78%, which is the highest indicator among OECD countries. In comparison, in Germany this level is 31%, and in Spain only 17%. This is reported by In Poland.

Poland's Labor Market: Key Data

According to the OECD report, Poland actively attracts foreign workers and does so significantly more effectively than other European countries. The publication emphasizes that Poland employs twice as many Ukrainians as Germany, allowing the country to compensate for labor shortages and support economic growth.

Migration rates also demonstrate stability: in 2022, more than 300 thousand migrants arrived in Poland. In comparison, in 2013 this figure was only 47 thousand.

The OECD notes that Poland is among the leading countries in attracting temporary workers and shows one of the highest employment rates of foreigners among EU countries - 78.4%.

Why Poland Stands Out

Economic analysts explain the success by several factors:

  • active integration policy
  • business demand for workers
  • simplified employment procedures for citizens of Ukraine.

In 2024, the number of applications for asylum in Poland doubled to 14.5 thousand. Nearly half of the applications came from Ukrainians. Meanwhile, in Germany there were 230 thousand such applications, in Spain - 164 thousand.

It is notable that in Poland foreigners work even more actively than locals: the employment rate among migrants is 81.1%, while among Poles it is 74.6%.
