Singer Olya Polyakova has submitted an application to participate in the National Selection for Eurovision-2026. She has officially addressed 'Public Broadcasting' with a letter about the need to update certain selection rules. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to Polyakova's social media.

After high-profile scandals involving Maruv (2019) and Alina Pash (2022), who won the National Selections, the rules for artist participation were changed. Thus, those who have been on the territory of the Russian Federation and occupied territories since 2014 and in Belarus after February 2024 are not eligible for selection. As a result, many top artists, including Polyakova, cannot enter the National Selection.

However, the singer decided to submit her application. She has not yet disclosed which composition she will present. Polyakova loudly announced her plans to conquer the National Selection for Eurovision at a closed event in the capital, which she invited, among others, media representatives, artists, and bloggers. After presenting her new English-language composition Warrior and its music video, the singer explained her position.
