New vaccination calendar from 2026: which vaccines children will receive earlier
Starting from the new year, Ukraine will launch an updated National Vaccination Schedule, which is adapted to modern global immunization standards. The main goal of the changes is to provide children with better and earlier protection against dangerous infections.
From January 1, 2026, children in Ukraine will receive some vaccines earlier:
- The second dose of the MMR vaccine will now be administered at 4 years, instead of 6, so that the child has full protection before school.
- The tuberculosis vaccine (BCG) will be given within 24 hours after birth, instead of 3–5 days, allowing newborns to receive protection from this disease more quickly.
Among other important changes – free vaccination against HPV for girls aged 12–13, a transition to inactivated vaccine for all vaccinations against polio, and updated vaccination schedules against hepatitis B, Hib, and other infections.
Detailed information can be found in the 'Vaccination Schedule 2026' section on the Ministry of Health's website.
Don't forget to keep an eye on updates from official MOH resources, consult with your doctor about the vaccination schedule for your child. Take care of your health and the health of your loved ones!
The changes in the National Vaccination Calendar of Ukraine, which will take effect from January 1, 2026, aim to strengthen the protection of children against infections and eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases.
