According to glavcom.ua: American television channels Fox News, ABC, CBS, and NBC have refused to sign a new agreement with the US Department of Defense that regulates journalists' access to the Pentagon. CNN has also made a similar decision. According to The Washington Post, this is done because the media believes that the new rules will significantly limit their ability to inform the public about national security issues.

In a joint statement, the channels expressed concern that the new rules harm press freedom. They emphasized that they will continue to cover the works of the US Armed Forces according to independent journalistic standards.

According to the new requirements, journalists are prohibited from obtaining or requesting information that the Pentagon does not officially provide. Additionally, the department can revoke the accreditation of those who do not sign the agreement. Journalist Nancy Youssef of The Atlantic emphasized that such a move could result in the absence of journalists from major media at the Pentagon.

The majority of leading national and international publications have joined the boycott of the new agreement. The only channel that agreed to sign the agreement was One America News. The Pentagon Press Association urged the department to reconsider its policy and emphasized the lack of legal grounds for imposing such restrictions on journalists.

The agreement between the channels and the Pentagon, which restricts journalists' access to military sites, has caused outrage in the media and joint actions from publishers, journalist associations, and representatives of American media.
