Rivne Region Brings 17 Projects to URC 2026 in Gdańsk
Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026)
According to Radiotrek — Світ: Held in Gdańsk, Poland, on June 25–26, 2026, the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) saw Ukraine's President unable to attend due to a conflict with Navrotskyi. Despite this absence, the Rivne region was prominently represented, underscoring the role of local development in the nation's rebuilding efforts.
Andriy Liudvychuk, Director of the Rivne Regional Development Agency, highlighted 17 projects brought from various communities. He stated,
“We arrived with seventeen projects from different communities, selecting those most appealing to international donors, investors, and others.”
Of these, six focus on industrial parks, while the rest target social sector needs.
Key Initiatives and Their Impact
Among the standout initiatives, the Hoshcha community presented the 'Revival Quarter' project. Hoshcha united territorial community head Mykola Panchuk emphasized,
“The largest, most ambitious project is the construction of a revival quarter in our community.”
With an estimated cost of €150 million, the project aims to provide social housing for displaced persons, particularly those who lost property due to the conflict.
“This is our social housing. People from Bakhmut and many other Ukrainian settlements who, unfortunately, lost their property and territories are now scattered across Ukraine,” Panchuk added. Liudvychuk noted positive outcomes from the conference: “Regarding the conference results, we gained a large number of contacts that we will now follow up on.”
URC 2026 thus served as a crucial platform for discussing projects that could advance Ukraine's recovery and development, despite the challenges the country faces.
The conference highlights the importance of international support in post-conflict reconstruction. Regional initiatives like those from the Rivne area demonstrate local communities' potential to attract investment and implement socially vital programs. Successful execution of these projects could significantly improve living conditions for many Ukrainians affected by the war.
In light of the fruitful discussions at URC 2026, it's noteworthy that Ukraine has secured more than €10 billion in agreements. This significant financial backing is essential for supporting the ambitious projects presented by regions like Rivne.
