Hero Andriy Shova: a life story taken by war
Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war every day at 9 a.m. Today we remember soldier Andriy Shova.
Andriy Shova, known as Khrust, was killed on May 4, 2022, near the village of Prudjanka in the Kharkiv region. He was born in 1992 in the village of Verkhni Sinivtsi in Hlyboke and attended the Nyzhno-Synivetska school. Andriy graduated from the Chernivtsi faculty of the National Technical University 'Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute'. In civilian life, he was a co-owner of a car service but decided to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders.
With the start of the full-scale war, Andriy took up arms to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders. He served in the ranks of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade 'Edelweiss', where he held the position of a shooter. Together with his comrades, he participated in the liberation of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
The soldier was killed during the evacuation of the wounded in the Kharkiv region as a result of an explosion of a vehicle on a landmine. Andriy was only 29 years old. His wife recalls that he always dreamed of a happy future for their children and wished for them never to see war.
Andriy Shova was buried in his native village of Verkhni Sinivtsi, where his relatives and friends awaited him. He received posthumous awards, and a street in the Chernivtsi region was renamed in his honor.
Today we join a moment of silence to honor the memory of all Ukrainians who gave their lives for their homeland.
