Lyubov Golota called for a boycott of Borodynsky bread: why the name caused outrage
Lyubov Holota, a renowned writer and journalist, took issue with the name of the bread 'Borodynsky', which is sold in Kyiv. She urged Ukrainians to support only Ukrainian names for products and to refuse Soviet and Muscovite etymologies. According to Holota, such actions will help to distance from the past and support the individuality of the Ukrainian nation.
The journalist expressed her outrage that bread with such a name, despite being made in Ukraine, continues to be associated with the past. Holota called on everyone to ignore products with names connected to Moscow and to use only those that have appropriate Ukrainian names.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, a specific action has already taken place – the city renamed 65 streets and alleys associated with Russia to other names. This has become a symbolic step for the city, according to the mayor Ihor Terekhov.
