Instructor beat a cadet with a buttstock at the training ground: both face up to 12 years in prison
According to glavcom.ua: In September 2024, during live-fire training at a training ground in the Kirovohrad region, a conflict occurred between an instructor and a recruit. The serviceman beat the cadet with the butt of a rifle. According to information from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the cadet with bodily injuries was hospitalized.
The instructor is in custody and is accused of exceeding power or official authority. The commander of the training platoon, who was at the scene, has also been suspended. Both face punishment of 10 to 12 years of imprisonment according to the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The indictment has been sent to court.
Additionally, investigators reported on suspects who assaulted a serviceman in the capital's Hydropark in Kyiv. Such incidents, where servicemen become victims of violence, are becoming increasingly frequent and require examination and the adoption of necessary measures.
As a result of the conflict during training at the training ground in the Kirovohrad region, the instructor beat the cadet, which led to the latter's hospitalization with bodily injuries. The indictment has been sent to court, and both involved face serious punishment according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Other cases of violence, where servicemen become victims, are also being investigated, which requires the adoption of necessary measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
