Poland considers contribution to the purchase of weapons for Ukraine: decision by the end of the year

The Polish government is actively considering the possibility of joining the PURL initiative, which provides for the supply of American weapons to Ukraine as part of support from NATO allies and their partners. According to the Ministry of Defense of Poland, the country plans to complete the analysis of this possibility by the end of the current year.

In their comments, Polish officials emphasized that they support the PURL initiative, which simplifies the supply of American weapons directly from warehouses to Ukraine. They also reminded about the support for Ukraine in the form of military equipment supplies and logistical assistance.

Furthermore, the PURL initiative, coordinated by NATO, is currently raising funds for the purchase of weapons and ammunition for Ukraine from European countries. According to the alliance, over 2 billion euros have already been raised in the first months of the initiative's operation. Almost half of the NATO member countries have already joined this project, but Poland has not yet joined it.
