According to glavcom.ua: Since the introduction of border control with Germany and Lithuania, the Polish authorities have checked 75,000 people, said Polish Minister of Interior and Administration Tomasz Semonyak. He noted that this has allowed to identify wanted persons and stolen vehicles, which has an additional positive effect.

Semonyak reported that some of the checked individuals were wanted or had stolen vehicles, indicating the effectiveness of the control.

At the border with Lithuania, 28 individuals identified as migrants and their transporters were detained. The Lithuanian side was handed over 13 migrants who likely traveled through countries from Belarus to Lithuania. The minister urged to stop such migration and expressed gratitude to Lithuania for understanding the situation.

Minister Semonyak noted that migrants are being used as a tool to destabilize the political and social situation.

The minister also added that the increased control at the borders so far has not caused any incidents. The control at the border with Germany and Lithuania will last at least until August 5, noting that trucks are not subject to inspection.

Inspections are selective and primarily concern buses, minibuses, and cars with a large number of passengers, as well as vehicles with tinted windows.

Since the introduction of border control in Poland with Germany and Lithuania, 75 thousand people have already been checked. This allowed the identification of wanted and stolen persons, confirming the effectiveness of the control measures. Migrants have also been detained at the border with Lithuania, indicating cooperation between countries in the fight against illegal migration. Meanwhile, there have not been any incidents during the period of heightened control, which will end no earlier than August 5.
