A client's complaint about PrivatBank's service sparked outrage on social media. A woman, who has been using the bank's services for decades, suddenly found her credit limit restricted without any warning.
Explanation from PrivatBank
After contacting the hotline 3700, a bank operator explained that the restriction was imposed due to the client reaching the age of 70, and according to the bank's standards, limits may decrease to zero after this age.
Client's Reaction
The woman considers the bank's policy discriminatory and offensive. She noted the lack of warning regarding changes that ruined her plans for using credit funds. The client also emphasized her impeccable credit history and timely repayments of debts.
'It's very unpleasant that I was crossed out of life,' she summarized.
PrivatBank's press service has not yet provided an official comment regarding the restriction of lending to elderly clients. It is also worth noting that starting from 2026, the bank will force payment for a popular service.
