Ukraine applies for SEPA: how transfers to Europe will change

According to НБУ: Participants of the Cashless Day 2025: European Integration Track event actively discussed the readiness of the Ukrainian payment market for integration with the European payment space. The event, organized by the European Business Association, brought together representatives of the banking sector and payment system specialists.

During the discussion, it was noted that the Ukrainian draft laws for joining SEPA (Single European Payments Area) are already ready for consideration in parliament. The NBU expressed its readiness to send the corresponding application to the European Payments Council after the legislation is approved. This will open opportunities for cooperation and convenient financial transactions for both banks and citizens of Ukraine.

The importance of harmonious implementation of European regulations in the country's payment sphere was also emphasized to improve cashless payments and protect the interests of payment service consumers.
