Odesa Targeted in Overnight Assault

According to Главком: In a nighttime attack on February 8, Russian forces struck the port city of Odesa with attack drones. The assault resulted in the death of one man and inflicted significant damage to residential buildings and utility infrastructure. These strikes are part of a wider pattern of attacks on Ukrainian cities far from the front lines.

Fires broke out on the roofs of apartment blocks, including at one building where a gas pipeline was damaged. The attack also ignited several passenger cars and a non-residential structure.

Emergency Services Respond

Emergency crews are currently working at the scene to contain the damage and extinguish the blazes. The total number of casualties is still being confirmed.

This is not an isolated incident for Odesa. Just days earlier, on the night of February 4, a similar drone attack damaged over 20 residential buildings, two kindergartens, and a school, leaving two people injured and requiring on-site medical treatment.

According to information from Serhii Lysak, the situation involved a fire on an apartment block roof, a damaged gas pipeline, and burning cars and a non-residential building. The situation in Odesa remains tense as rescue services continue their operations.

These attacks on Odesa underscore the continuation of Russian aggression, which not only damages civilian infrastructure but also endangers the lives of peaceful residents. Serhii Lysak

Authorities and rescue services are working to respond swiftly to the aftermath of the attacks. However, each new act of aggression significantly complicates the situation in the region. Given that Odesa has been targeted repeatedly, further developments concerning security in Ukraine are anticipated.
