Трагічний інцидент в Богодухові забрав життя трьох дітей, серед яких були близнюки, та їхнього батька-військового.

Strike on Bohodukhiv

According to Главком: On the night of February 10, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the 'Geran-2' type struck a private home in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv Oblast. This attack resulted in the deaths of four people, including three young children: two-year-old twin boys, Ivan and Vladyslav, and their one-year-old sister, Myroslava. Their father, 34-year-old war veteran Hryhorii Shykula, also perished. The children's pregnant mother, 35-year-old Olha Kryvohub, sustained blast injuries, a traumatic brain injury, acoustic trauma, and thermal burns.

Olha Kryvohub has recently been discharged from the hospital where she was under medical supervision. A 73-year-old neighbor was also injured in the strike, suffering from an acute stress reaction and a hypertensive crisis. The Shykula family home was completely destroyed and engulfed in flames. This region has endured relentless shelling since the full-scale invasion began. Notably, the family had recently relocated to Bohodukhiv to escape shelling in Zolochiv, and the night of the attack was their first in the new house. They had previously lived in Nova Vodolaha, and the father was registered in Skovorodynivka.

Days of Mourning and Official Response

Days of mourning have been declared in Bohodukhiv from February 11 to 13. Ukrainian flags with black ribbons will be flown at half-mast on administrative buildings. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, commented on the tragedy, stating that the Russian army had once again deliberately targeted an ordinary residential house in the middle of the night, condemning the act as terrorism.

"The strike took what was most precious - the family's future: three small children and their father." - Volodymyr Bieliy

This tragedy underscores, yet again, the horrific cost of the war for civilians, particularly for children and women who have become victims of violence. It raises profound concerns about civilian safety in conflict zones and highlights the urgent need to protect human rights in areas of active hostilities. Supporting the affected families and rebuilding infrastructure remain critical tasks for local authorities and the international community during this difficult time.
