Three Killed as Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv High-Rise
Deadly Attack on Kyiv: July 8
According to Главком: On July 8, Russia launched an assault on Kyiv using both drones and missiles. During the attack, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle hit a 25-story residential building, striking near the 16th floor. The death toll in the capital has reached three, with ten more people wounded-eight of whom have been hospitalized.
In addition to the residential strike, a Russian drone crashed and exploded near a gas distribution station in Kyiv's Desnyansky district on the same day, raising the casualty count to two. Overnight on July 8, missile strikes also sparked fires in the Desnyansky and Svyatoshinsky districts, where a garage cooperative went up in flames, and administrative buildings and trams were damaged. A warehouse fire was reported in the Desnyansky district as well.
Kyiv Mayor's Response
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that
“emergency services are heading to the scene”
and confirmed that
“three people have died in the capital.”
This tragedy highlights the ongoing threat Russia poses to Ukrainian civilians.
