Shakhtar suffers first defeat in the UPL season: crushing loss to LNZ 1:4

According to glavcom.ua: In the final match of the 8th round of the Ukrainian Premier League 2025/26 season, 'Shakhtar' suffered a crushing defeat with a score of 1:4 against LNZ. The game took place at the 'Arena Lviv.'

In the 61st minute, LNZ's advantage was increased by Ghanaian forward Mark Assinor. And in the 71st minute, Artur Ryabov made the score overwhelming by sending the third goal into the miners' net.

Despite this defeat, 'Shakhtar' remains the leader of the UPL with 17 points, ahead of 'Dynamo' and 'Kryvbas'. This is the first defeat for the Donetsk club in the current season.

After defeating 'Shakhtar', LNZ occupies the sixth place in the standings with 14 points. In the next round, 'Shakhtar' will play against 'Polissya', while LNZ will meet with 'Kolos'.

In the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, the Ukrainian national team lost to France with a score of 0:2. The game took place at the stadium in Wrocław, Poland.
