Complaints about language law violations increased by 27%: websites and advertising are leading
In the last three quarters of 2025, the number of complaints about violations of language laws in Ukraine increased by 27% to 2227 appeals. The main complaints from citizens concerned the absence of a Ukrainian version of online stores, advertising, services, education, culture, and medical institutions.
The majority of complaints came from Kyiv (39%), Odesa (15%), Kharkiv (13%) and Dnipropetrovsk (9%) regions. The commissioner for the protection of the state language, Olena Ivanovska, noted that this increase in the number of complaints indicates a growing attention of Ukrainians to their right to use the state language.
According to her, in the border regions of Ukraine, the state language is under constant pressure and has to compete with the languages of neighboring countries.

Olena Ivanovska also warned parents about the rewatching of the Russian cartoon 'Masha and the Bear', claiming that it is a tool of hybrid warfare that promotes Russian values and cultural influence.
The number of complaints about violations of language laws in Ukraine has increased, indicating a heightened interest among Ukrainians in preserving and protecting the state language. The designated person on this issue noted increased pressure on the state language in border areas and warns about the danger of Russian propaganda through media content.
