According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainians working in Poland play an important role in the Polish economy. According to a study by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE), about 75-85% of Ukrainians are employed in the Polish labor market, which exceeds the employment rates of Poles.

Ukrainians not only contribute significantly to the economy of Poland but also successfully integrate into the society of the country. They are recognized not only as important but also as key to the Polish economy, say the authors of the study.

The Main Question: Will Ukrainians Continue to Support the Polish Economy?

According to the findings of the study, most Ukrainians who can stay in Poland are young. These are people who have been in the country for more than four years and arrived before the start of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

As for the other part of Ukrainians in Poland, they are in a transitional state due to work or lack of other options. However, if Ukrainian workers suddenly return home, this could seriously impact the labor market in Poland, analysts note.

Conclusions and Prospects

“The main question: will Ukrainians continue to support the Polish economy in the future?”

The Polish government is developing a bill to gradually reduce special support measures for Ukrainian refugees that were introduced in 2022. According to the new rules, after March 4, 2026, Ukrainians will receive the same rights as other foreigners working in Poland.

The study shows that Ukrainians in Poland have successfully adapted to the new conditions during the full-scale war in Eastern Ukraine. They continue to influence the economy, but the future remains uncertain.
