SpaceX Partners with Google and Anthropic

According to НВ — Техно: On June 5, it was revealed that SpaceX has entered into agreements with Google and Anthropic to provide cloud computing resources for artificial intelligence. Under the terms of the deal, Google will pay SpaceX $920 million per month from October 2026 through June 2029. The contract also grants Google access to approximately 110,000 Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs). To meet its obligations, SpaceX must expand its server capacity by the end of September 2026. If SpaceX fails to deliver the agreed number of GPUs by September 30, 2026, Google reserves the right to terminate the agreement after a one-month grace period.

Additionally, in May, Anthropic agreed to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion per month until May 2029. Anthropic will gain access to the Colossus and Colossus II data centers, with Colossus housing over 220,000 Nvidia processors and providing Anthropic with 300 megawatts of additional power. The contracts with Google and Anthropic will generate $2.17 billion in monthly payments for SpaceX, equating to roughly $26 billion annually. The total value of the deals with these two clients could exceed $70 billion.

Cloud Computing Market Landscape

In the first quarter of 2026, Amazon held 28% of the global cloud infrastructure market, Microsoft 21%, and Google 14%. Together, these three leading providers control 67% of the public cloud. The cloud computing market in Q1 2026 is 15 times larger than a decade ago and is growing at 35% per year, noted John Dinsdale. He also emphasized that artificial intelligence will continue to drive cloud usage, unlocking new applications and boosting cloud providers' revenues.

SpaceX is scheduled to go public on June 12, 2026. The company aims to sell $75 billion in shares and is targeting a valuation of approximately $1.75 trillion. SpaceX's IPO could surpass the record set by Saudi Aramco, which was valued at $1.7 trillion in 2019. In the first quarter of 2026, SpaceX's AI division generated $818 million in revenue, but the company reported an operating loss of $2.47 billion.

A Google representative confirmed that Google Cloud and SpaceX have been long-standing partners.

It has also been noted that Google and SpaceX have discussed building orbital data centers, which could signal a deepening of their collaboration.

The agreements among SpaceX, Google, and Anthropic have the potential to significantly reshape the cloud computing market, given the substantial financial commitments and the rising demand for AI resources. Successful execution of these contracts could strengthen SpaceX's market position, especially ahead of its IPO, marking a pivotal moment for the company. Each deal also underscores the critical role of cloud technologies in advancing artificial intelligence over the coming years.

While SpaceX's recent agreements signify a major leap in cloud computing, Musk has refuted claims regarding a $1.25 billion monthly deal with Anthropic, highlighting the complexities of these partnerships and their implications for the AI sector.
