The U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs has made changes to the visa application procedure for Ukrainians

According to hvylya.net: According to the new rules, Ukrainians are now required to submit documents only in their country of citizenship or permanent residence. This may complicate the process of obtaining non-immigrant visas to the United States, as Ukrainians will now have to undergo interviews at the embassies in Poland.

As consular services in Ukraine have been suspended, prospective applicants are recommended to contact the embassies in Warsaw or Krakow. For countries where there are no U.S. consular services, foreigners should contact designated embassies or consulates in third countries.

Representatives of the U.S. agency emphasized that the new measures apply to countries where the U.S. temporarily does not provide consular services. 'In such cases, foreigners must submit applications to the embassies or consulates we have designated in third countries,' the Bureau of Consular Affairs stated.

Increased waiting times and additional requirements

It is important for Ukrainian applicants to have confirmation of their residence status in Poland, where they submit their visa documents. The new rules apply to various types of non-immigrant visas and may allow exceptions only for certain categories of individuals.

It should also be noted that for the first time, Ukrainian refugees have been deported from the United States, indicating an approval of increased control over migration processes in the country.

Changes in the visa application procedure for Ukrainians by the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs will complicate their ability to obtain non-immigrant visas, and will require confirmation of their residence status in Poland and undergoing interviews at embassies in Poland. At the same time, control over migration processes in the U.S. is increasing, which is reflected in the deportation of Ukrainian refugees.
