According to glavcom.ua: The editor-in-chief of the publication 'Ukrainian Truth', Sevgi Musaeva, reported that the farewell with journalist Victoria Roshchina, who died in Russian captivity, will take place in Kyiv on August 8. The memorial ceremony is scheduled to start at 12:00 at St. Michael's Cathedral. At 13:00, a civil ceremony will take place on Independence Square, and at 14:00 - the funeral at Baikove Cemetery.

The fate of the journalist and the official recognition of her death

At the time of her death, Victoria Roshchina had been at the front since the beginning of the Russian invasion. She was detained on March 16, 2022, while she was in occupied Berdyansk. After her release from captivity, Russian military personnel forced the journalist to record a video denying allegations against the Russian special services. Victoria Roshchina's disappearance occurred in August 2023 in the occupied territories, and only in October 2024 it became known about her death in Russian captivity.
