According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina received the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Heart Award. This is already the second victory for the athlete this season in a team tournament. According to the voting on the Billie Jean King Cup website, Elina took first place, ahead of her competitors.

“It is a great honor for me to receive the Billie Jean King Cup Finals Heart Award. It means a lot to me as it reflects the spirit and unity of our Ukrainian team and the incredible support from all of you. Thank you to everyone who voted and supported me. The prize of $10,000 will be donated to the Svitolina Foundation to help the next generation of young tennis players and continue our program that gives hope to children through sports,”

Elina Svitolina has decided to pause her career until the end of 2025 due to psychological exhaustion caused by constant performances. The tennis player stated that she does not feel ready to play and needs time to recover her strength and emotional health.

“Recently I have not felt like myself. I am not in the right emotional state and do not feel ready to play, so I am ending the season. Over the years, I have realized that this sport is not about money, fame, or ranking, but about being ready to fight and giving your all. Right now, I am just not at the moral or emotional level to do that,”

Elina plans to rest and regain her strength to return to the court and continue her tennis career, representing Ukraine with dignity.
