Ukrainian speed skater Hlib Khochin sets European record: details of success

According to glavcom.ua: In Germany, international competitions 'International Invitation Race' in speed skating took place in Inzell. The tournament lasted three days and athletes from Italy, France, Austria, and Germany competed in various distances for men and women.

One of the juniors from Ukraine, 17-year-old Hlib Khochin, impressed everyone with his performance at the distance of 500 m, showing a time of 36.48 seconds. This result earned him first place among the juniors and the tenth position in the overall standings. Hlib set a new junior record for Ukraine, which surpassed the previous record by 0.22 seconds.

At the distance of 1500 m, Khochin showed an even better result, setting a new personal and national record with a time of 1:50.43, which was the best in the world at the moment of the season. This performance allowed Hlib to meet the international standard for participation in the adult World Cup in speed skating.

Ukraine also impressed with its achievements at the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 23 medals in various sports, including judo, swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.

In conclusion, at the World Summer Universiade in Germany, the Ukrainian team demonstrated commendable results, winning 12 medals in various sports.
