In Kyiv bus routes are changing traffic schemes

In Kyiv, starting from March 5, the traffic schemes of two bus routes will change. This concerns buses No. 62 and No. 90-K. The decision was made to improve passenger transport services in the capital. The official Kyiv portal reports.

The Kyiv City State Administration, citing KP 'Kyivpastrans', explained that the new routes are meant to optimize transportation and make trips more convenient for residents of the city.

The changes will affect transport movement towards Kontraktova Square.

Bus No. 62 will run:

  • from Sadovo-Botanical Street to Basin Street on its own route

  • then through Bessarabsky Passage

  • along Velyka Vasylkivska Street

  • through Khreshchatyk Street

  • after which it will return to the usual route to Kontraktova Square.

In the opposite direction, the movement of the buses will remain unchanged.

Route No. 90-K will also operate on an updated scheme.

The bus will run the following route:

  • Valeriy Marchenko Square

  • Stetsenka Street

  • Mriyi Street

  • Bereshtsya Boulevard

  • Metro station 'Sviatoshyn'

  • Chornobayivska Square with round traffic

  • Metro station 'Nyvky'

  • returning via Bereshtsya Boulevard to the starting point.

The Kyiv City State Administration notes that changes are expected to improve transport accessibility for residents of certain districts of the capital.

Recently, large-scale work has also been ongoing in Kyiv to update the transport infrastructure. In particular, major repairs of the overpass at the intersection of Ronald Reagan Street and Honore de Balzac Street, which are planned to be completed by November 30, are underway.

In addition, traffic on Andriy Malyshek Street will be partially restricted until March 20 due to storm sewer repair. Also, throughout the year, five new above-ground pedestrian crossings are planned to be equipped in the capital.

It is reminded that in Kyiv they are gradually restoring electric transport traffic on the Left Bank. The operation of trams and trolleybuses is returning after the improvement of the situation in the energy system. Some routes began to operate as early as March 3.
