In Kyiv, train service has been restored on one of the metro lines
In Kyiv, train service has been restored on the red metro line after a prolonged air raid alert, which effectively paralyzed public transport and caused a transportation collapse in the city. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
The resumption of train service was announced by the Kyiv City State Administration. During the alarm signal, the metro did not operate across bridges, which significantly increased the burden on ground transport and led to mass crowds of passengers at stops.
Ground transport during this period operated with restrictions: buses and trolleybuses passed stops without picking up passengers. As a result, large queues and delays in movement formed in various districts of the capital.
Restoration of metro service after air raid alert
The air raid alert in the capital lasted over three hours. After it ended, train service on the red metro line was gradually restored in normal mode. The Kyiv City State Administration noted that the metro's operation is restored immediately after obtaining permission from security services.
Transport restrictions during the alert in Kyiv
During air raid alerts in Kyiv, special traffic rules apply. In particular:
-
metro trains do not run across bridges;
-
ground transport operates with restrictions;
-
significant increases in passenger flow and queues at stops are possible.
Earlier, it was reported that restrictions on train service had already been noted on the red metro line between certain stations due to the security situation.
It is important to note that due to the shelling of Kyiv and the critical situation in the energy system, the schedule and routes of the metro have been changed. On the night of January 20, Russian terrorists attacked Kyiv, resulting in casualties and damage to infrastructure.
