In Poland, a gang of telephone fraudsters was detained: among those arrested are nine Ukrainians

The police of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship uncovered a group of fraudsters who pretended to be bank employees. A total of nine individuals were arrested, including eight Ukrainian citizens and one Georgian. The victim lost over 400,000 zlotys.

The investigation showed that the fraudsters operated in several cities in Poland, and the arrests occurred gradually. Each participant played their role – from contacting potential victims by phone to receiving funds.

All those arrested are charged with fraud, facing up to eight years in prison and deportation after serving their sentence.

In addition, Ukrainians are being warned about new fraud schemes. Malefactors use QR codes for scamming and pose as bank employees or law enforcement to extract personal data.

Fraudsters are also active on the Viber messenger, attempting to seize the victim's SIM card during phone conversations.

The police discovered a group of fraudsters in Poland who posed as bank employees and caused losses to the victim. Ukrainians are also warned about new fraud schemes, including the use of QR codes for phishing and attempts to seize SIM cards through phone calls.
