Ukraine returned 205 citizens from captivity: Zelensky named the details of the exchange
According to hvylya.net: Ukraine returned 205 people from Russian captivity - 185 military and 20 civilians.
The release took place as part of a combined exchange: some of the captives were returned according to agreements in Istanbul, while others were part of the next, 69th exchange. Among the 185 military are 183 privates and sergeants, as well as two officers. The servicemen are returning home, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Navy, Ground Forces, Territorial Defense, Airborne Assault Forces, National Guard and State Border Guard Service.
Dedicated to the fighters for Ukraine
The freed Ukrainians defended the country in various directions. Among them are defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as National Guardsmen who were captured while guarding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The youngest freed defender is 26 years old, and the oldest is 59. Almost all of the freed military and civilians have been in captivity since 2022.
'We are bringing home 185 of our defenders from Russian captivity. Along with the defenders, 20 of our civilians are also returning. Everyone will definitely receive the necessary support,' wrote Zelensky.
Medical and social assistance
The President added that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has managed to bring home more than 7 thousand people. Those released from captivity will undergo a full medical examination, receive assistance with physical and psychological rehabilitation, and all state-provided payments. The coordination headquarters continues its work to search, document, and return everyone who is in Russian captivity.
