According to Главком: A new round of peace negotiations involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia has been scheduled for February 17-18, 2026, in Geneva. The announcement was made by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov. These talks represent a significant diplomatic effort to address the ongoing conflict, which has had profound global repercussions. Umerov stated that the Ukrainian team, structured to address military, political, and security dimensions, will work on substantive solutions within the framework defined by the nation's leadership, with the goal of achieving a stable and lasting peace.

The Ukrainian delegation will consist of:

  • Head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov,
  • First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Serhiy Kyslytsia,
  • Head of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People," David Arakhamia,
  • Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Vadym Skibitsky.

Russia's delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian leader, who previously headed the Russian delegation during bilateral talks in Istanbul in the spring of last year.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the lack of detailed information regarding specific demands the European Union is reportedly preparing for Russia as part of a peace settlement. He underscored the critical importance of the EU maintaining a firm stance on the return of deported Ukrainian children, a core humanitarian issue in the negotiation process.

The convening of these trilateral talks signals a continuation of international efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. The involvement of the United States highlights the sustained engagement of the international community in managing this crisis. The emphasis on the return of Ukrainian children remains a potential cornerstone for building a compromise between the warring parties.
