She emphasized that a biometric foreign passport is the primary travel document, and it must remain valid for at least 90 days beyond the date of entry.

At the border, Polish guards may ask about the purpose of your visit, your accommodation address in Poland, and a contact phone number for your host. Dekhtyar advises that elderly parents should carry an invitation letter written in Polish. This letter must include the host's surname, first name, PESEL number, address, passport details, travel dates, and a contact phone number.

Border Crossing Requirements

One mandatory requirement is valid health insurance, with coverage starting the day after payment.

"The best option is to have a printed insurance policy along with proof of payment," Dekhtyar noted.

For trips of up to 4 days, travelers must have at least 300 PLN plus funds for the return journey, or a return ticket with a confirmed date. For stays longer than 4 days, you need 75 PLN per day of stay plus return funds. These funds can be in cash (PLN, EUR, or USD) or a bank statement. The bank statement is valid for 30 days and must be written in Polish.

To apply for a visa, you need an official invitation from a company, organization, or educational institution. However, for visits to friends or relatives, or for leisure trips, no official invitation is required.

"But IMPORTANT! Invitations are only for VISAS. If you're just visiting or vacationing, you don't need any official invitation," experts stressed.
