According to hvylya.net: More than 13 thousand companies and approximately 90 thousand individual entrepreneurs have been opened by Ukrainians living in Poland since the Russian invasion began in February 2022. This data is provided by the Polish Economic Institute in collaboration with Gremi Personal, reported by Euronews.

According to the National Court Register of Poland, as of early July 2025, 29,044 companies owned by Ukrainians were registered. More than 13 thousand of them were opened after February 2022, when nearly a million Ukrainian refugees arrived in Poland due to Russian aggression.

The Gremi Personal analytical center reports that approximately 6% of all new companies registered in Poland over the past 3.5 years are owned by Ukrainians. Companies created after the war have a total capital of more than 533 million zlotys.

In 2024, Ukrainian entrepreneurs and workers paid nearly 1.65 billion zlotys to the Polish budget in taxes.

Labor market and reasons for starting a business

The Polish Economic Institute reveals that from 2022 to 2025, citizens of Ukraine registered 88,500 individual entrepreneurs in Poland, of which more than 33 thousand were registered last year. Ukrainian companies created more than 100 thousand enterprises, and every tenth individual enterprise is now Ukrainian.

'These figures show that Ukrainians in Poland are actively influencing the economy and developing it, paying a significant amount of taxes and consuming local goods and services,' notes Damian Husman, Deputy General Director of Gremi Personal.

The main reasons why so many Ukrainians are starting businesses in Poland include the opportunity to work according to their skills, the need for individual accounting and taxation, as well as the prospects of accessing the European market through company registration in Poland.

The Polish Economic Institute researched the activity of Ukrainians in Polish business and found that since the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine, a significant number of Ukrainians have opened and directed their efforts towards creating companies and enterprises in Poland. This trend indicates not only support for Ukrainian refugees but also their active participation in the development of the Polish economy, contributing to the creation of new jobs and paying taxes to the country's budget.
