The government has approved new rehabilitation rules for those released from captivity: what will change
According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense proposed to improve the processes of treatment, rehabilitation, and adaptation for those who have been released from Russian captivity.
'We will improve the treatment, rehabilitation, and adaptation of Ukrainians released from Russian captivity – both military personnel and civilians,' – stated Ukraine's Minister of Defense Denis Shmyhal.
The main points of the resolution include:
- Strengthening medical supervision for former captives for effective treatment;
- Carrying out a comprehensive set of therapeutic and rehabilitation measures to return individuals to normal life;
- Expanding the network of recovery institutions through reintegration centers of various military departments;
- Providing assistance in document processing within medical institutions.
Changes are also planned to be made to the orders regarding the classification of injuries sustained in captivity at the ministry level.
'Every individual who has experienced the horrors of Russian captivity will receive the necessary attention and support. We value the life and health of our fellow citizens,' – emphasized Denis Shmyhal.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine proposes to enhance the processes after release – including medical supervision, rehabilitation, and adaptation for former captives. The expansion of the network of recovery institutions and assistance in document processing is planned. Changes will also be made to the classification of injuries sustained during captivity at the ministry level.
