Україна виділила 6,6 мільйона доларів на додаткові виплати для понад 12 тисяч працівників, залучених до екстрених ремонтних робіт.

Special Bonuses for Infrastructure Restoration Teams

According to Главком: The Ukrainian government has allocated 242 million hryvnias (approximately $6.6 million) to provide March bonuses of 20,000 hryvnias each to over 12,000 workers involved in emergency restoration efforts following Russian strikes. These additional payments will go to three categories of specialists:

  • 9,000 energy sector employees,
  • nearly 2,000 municipal workers and gas utility staff,
  • more than 1,000 railway personnel.

This initiative is part of broader support for personnel carrying out hazardous duties amid the ongoing war.

War's Toll on Critical Infrastructure

Since the full-scale invasion began, Russia has destroyed or damaged 686 port infrastructure facilities and 150 civilian vessels. The railway network has endured over 4,700 attacks, resulting in damage to nearly 24,000 railway assets. From the start of 2026 alone, railway infrastructure has faced approximately 983 strikes. On May 5, the enemy destroyed a Ukrzaliznytsia railcar in the Kharkiv region and struck facilities in two other oblasts.

These hazard payments represent a vital lifeline for workers engaged in repair and reconstruction. In January and February of this year, bonuses were paid to over 12,000 and more than 14,000 specialists, respectively. Over the winter-spring season, nearly 40,000 people received financial support. The government also allocated over 280 million hryvnias for February payouts to restoration brigade members. This funding is essential to ensure fair compensation for those laboring in dangerous conditions.

By earmarking funds for emergency repair personnel, the government underscores the critical role these workers play in rebuilding the nation's war-ravaged infrastructure. These extra payments help sustain the motivation of specialists performing high-risk tasks, which in turn accelerates and improves the quality of restoration work on vital facilities. The decision also reflects the government's commitment to supporting those who operate in perilous environments-a key component of social policy during the conflict.

As the Ukrainian government continues to support those involved in rebuilding efforts, it's essential for eligible repair crews to be aware of the upcoming application deadline for additional bonuses. Workers can receive a significant financial boost of 20,000 hryvnias, with applications due by April 15. This initiative not only highlights the government's commitment to its workforce but also ensures that those engaged in critical repair tasks are recognized for their dedication.
