The Supervisory Board is preparing for an audit following the anti-corruption investigation

According to hvylya.net: The Supervisory Board of the State Enterprise 'Energoatom' decided to conduct an independent audit after the results of the anti-corruption investigation concerning the involvement of the company’s leaders were published.

In its official statement, the board emphasized that it will take all allegations of corruption very seriously. It was also noted that a special meeting will be held soon to assess the situation and agree on the next steps.

The Supervisory Board plans to review the operations that raised questions and conduct a comprehensive analysis of the company’s internal procedures and control systems.

The board emphasized that it remains committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity, and is ready to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

15-month investigation and participants in the corruption scheme

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office completed a 15-month investigation during which more than a thousand hours of audio recordings were collected.

Among the individuals involved in the case are Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, his advisor Igor Mironyuk, businessman Timur Mindič, and Energoatom representative Dmytro Basov.

According to NABU, the investigation concerns a large money laundering scheme generated through corrupt mechanisms in the energy sector.

According to the investigation, the main principle of the organization’s operations was to gain illicit benefits from Energoatom partners – from 10% to 15% of the contract sums. Supplier companies were effectively forced to pay ‘for the right’ to start work to avoid payment delays or losing their status. This practice was referred to as 'the barrier'.

Following the publication of the results of the anti-corruption investigation regarding activities within the company 'Energoatom', the Supervisory Board made the decision to conduct an independent audit and expressed its readiness to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. It was also noted that all necessary steps will be taken to identify and rectify violations within the company.
