New trolleybuses hit the routes in Ivano-Frankivsk, purchased with EU support
Ivano-Frankivsk has received new modern trolleybuses, acquired with financial support from the European Union. Some of the vehicles have already hit the city routes and started transporting passengers, gradually replacing outdated machines.
The city's mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv reported this.
New trolleybuses in Ivano-Frankivsk: characteristics and capabilities
The new rolling stock meets current requirements for public transport. This involves not only comfort but also accessibility for all passenger categories. The trolleybuses have a low floor, which significantly simplifies boarding for people with disabilities, parents with strollers, and the elderly.
The transport includes modern safety and passenger information systems. In particular, surveillance cameras are installed, electronic boards with route information, and an air conditioning system to maintain a comfortable temperature in the cabin during warm weather.
The main advantages of the new trolleybuses:
-
low-floor design for convenient boarding;
-
air conditioners in the cabin;
-
video surveillance for passenger safety;
-
electronic information boards;
-
energy-efficient technologies that reduce electricity consumption.
Thanks to these upgrades, passengers receive more comfortable and predictable travel conditions in the city.

Transport updates in Ivano-Frankivsk: the role of EU support
The purchase of trolleybuses was made possible due to the cooperation of the city with international partners, including the European Union. Financial support allowed the implementation of the public transport modernization project without significant burden on the local budget.
City authorities emphasize that the transport update is part of a long-term strategy for infrastructure development. The focus is on eco-friendly transport, which reduces harmful emissions and improves air quality in the city.
The launch of new trolleybuses is also expected to reduce the number of technical failures on routes, as the old transport often required repairs and created inconveniences for passengers. Updating the fleet allows stabilizing the public transport operation and increasing its reliability.
Earlier, Ivano-Frankivsk had already implemented similar projects for updating transport and infrastructure. The new trolleybuses have become a logical continuation of the course towards the modernization of urban transportation and the implementation of European standards in the field of public transport.
It is worth noting that the Department of Investment Policy of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council ordered calendars in which February had 31 days instead of 28.
