Rescue workers of the State Emergency Service have been engaged in a real fight against the consequences of heavy rain and flooding in Odesa and the Odesa region for almost a day. According to reports, the disaster has led to the death of 9 people, including one child. Rescue operations continued throughout the night.

One of the victims was a girl who was found during the search at 7 o'clock in the morning. While working at the scene, a psychologist from the State Emergency Service provided support to the victims. 362 people were rescued and 227 vehicles were evacuated from water traps.

To combat the consequences of the bad weather, 255 rescuers and 68 units of equipment have been deployed. The city authorities report serious damage to infrastructure and problems with sewage due to heavy rain. Despite the difficult situation, restoration efforts are ongoing.
