Attack on the Power Station in Zugres: What Happened?

On the night of November 18, an attack occurred at the local thermal power station (TPS) in the occupied Zugres in Donetsk region. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' citing Exilenova+.

According to the information, strike drones attacked the Zuivska TPS, targeting the transformer of the second boiler, which consequently became inoperative.

Telegram channels of the so-called 'Donetsk People's Republic' report that after the explosions in occupied Donetsk, there were issues with electricity supply. Residents of Makiivka were also left without power, and in Ilovaisk, electricity was completely banned.

It is noteworthy that on the night of November 17, drones also attacked temporarily occupied Donetsk, resulting in a power outage in the city. Fires broke out in some areas of the city.

Previous Attacks on Occupied Territories

Earlier, at the beginning of September, the cities of Donetsk, Makiivka, and Yenakiieve were also attacked by drones and missiles, which led to injuries.

News of attacks on occupied territories continues. For example, in Donetsk, cruise missiles struck the former 'Topaz' factory, which was used by the Russian occupying army.

Additionally, last August, a series of explosions occurred in occupied Donetsk, causing a fire near the 'Sigma' hypermarket. Witnesses captured the flight of at least four drones, after which a powerful explosive ignition occurred.

According to former Mariupol mayor's advisor Petro Andriushchenko, the armed forces struck at a base of Russian occupiers, which has already become a common occurrence recently.

The attack on the thermal power station in Zugres is just one of the acts of electronic warfare in the occupied territories, leading to severe disruptions in electricity supply and threats to the civilian population. The majority of such attacks occur at night when staff may be less prepared, indicating the complexity of the situation in the region.
